Right across from the Powell BART station, you could see a bright fluorescent banner reading “Jesus Christ Loves You”. The gentleman bearing the sign spends the whole day pacing along Market and Powell.

“Top” is not new to my readers. His usual attire had been a black leather county cap (also called driving cap or the golf cap), black goggles and a black leather jacket. In this though, he had taken his goggles off for a short period to reveal his eyes. And quite contrary to his usual dress, he was wearing a black bowler cap and a denim jacket.

Oscar Reynolds plays at various festivals in and around San Francisco, as well as various international musical festivals. From his roots deeply impressed in Bolivian music, Oscar carries the core essence of his music through the panpipes, flute and the guitar.

When most people are trying to “settle” down, it was refreshing to meet Frankie and Couscous more than willing to “unsettle” themselves. They are on a break for two weeks and arrived in California from Seattle. They have been playing on the streets to earn a meager gas money so that they could keep traveling.
