I met Shi Ji while strolling along Chinatown in Los Angeles. In a quite corner in Old Chinatown Shi Ji was playing the accordion. He has been playing for over fifty years now. Apart from the accordion, Shi Ji also plays the traditional Chinese ehru.

I have met Xuan quite a few times, taking pictures whenever I can and having a word when he takes a breather from playing. A plump gentleman with an ever smiling face greeting the bystanders. His music is traditional, slightly distorted by the electric amplifier that he carries along.
