Nikon launches its Blog at NikonUSA site

Late in Feb 2008, Nikon USA launched its blog on the Nikon USA website. Although Nikon claims that the posts, comments and responses are not from “Official Nikon” but from it’s authors, it is still a good forum for the Nikon devotees to interact with the company.

Candid street in New York City

I caught this gentleman walking back home after work in New York City. The rain has just turned into a drizzle and many people were reluctant to bring out their umbrellas.

Candid Street Photography - New York City Broadway pedestrians

Rain means umbrellas, and umbrellas are obstructions. Not only does it poke you in the eye, it also acts as a shield to someone who would like to avoid the camera. I have witnessed situations where photographers have been chased by umbrella wielding irate pedestrians!

Discount shopping in New York City

Discounts may not be attracting much shoppers any more. With people being used to a higher cut of over 50% for most of the year, shops giving out smaller discounts are finding very hard to attract new business.

I have stood like this gentleman so many times but only as a photographer could I see how eager he was to put his hand on one of these lenses. I am sure many photographers, like me, pause and ponder over items on display with such eagerness and dreams!
