Hand drawn pedi cabs & rickshaws in New York City
When slow moving, hand drawn carts are slowly moved out of busy cities and large metros, the number of petty, manual pedi cabs, also known as rickshaw, have increased significantly in New York City. The word “pedi” probably derives from the word foot pedal.
Being manual, they are easy on the environment, but more than that, they are cheap.
You could find hundreds right in the middle of the Big Apple and a large number, including horse drawn carriages, in Central Park too.
The image was taken on hand held Nikon D200. The pictures are watermarked, reduced in size and resolution for easy display on the websites.
